1. How does this work?
Answer: Ecosee hosts your photography site on the web and you concentrate on photography:
EcoSee hosts photography websites for you on our blazing fast servers which are housed in a Tier one Telecom facility run my Time Warner in Portland Oregon. If you already use pixelpost, you can download one of our addons to enhance your site. If you are new to pixelpost, you can sign up for a hosting account with EcoSee and we will do a free professional installation of the open source software for you.

2. How many photos can I have on my site?
Answer: Unlimited Photos! how is that possible? Most of our users make use of the auto resizing feature included in the upload screen. This creates a very small file and saves it to your EcoSee hosted site. Therefore, you can load tens of thousands of photos to your site and use very little server space. For the rare user who decides to upload originals to the server as well, we may need to reserve the right to talk about server use if that user is usnig a disproportionate amount of server resources.

3. How many galleries can I create?
Answer: As many as you like! Galleries are a great way to sort your photos by attribute and a photo can be added to more than one gallery. Think of it more as a map to your photos by type.

4. How do the templates work?
Answer: We have 30 templates to choose from. You simply login to your admin screen and click on the 'Templates' link on the menu bar. Select the template you wish to use on your site and click 'update'. That's it! The look of your website has been changed and all of the pictures are still there. Change the template as often as you wish... the site will automatically take the photos and all the information along.

5. Can I accept credit card payments right from my site?
Answer: Yes! All you need is a webhosting account, the open source pixelpost software, the paypal addon module and to signup for a paypal business account and you can start accepting credit cards online. (Note: Anyone can signup for a paypal business account so don't worry... start accepting credit cards online today!)

6. What if I don't have a domain name?
Answer: That's easy! Simply buy one from your favorite domain name reseller and we'll get it setup to work with your account. Or, you can buy one from us!

7. What if I already have a domain name?
Answer: You have two choices in this case. First (and the easier of the two) you can transfer the domain to us and we take care of everything else. It costs $9.95 per year and we will extend your current ownership for one year from its current date of expiration for every year you buy from us. In the future, you will simply renew the domain here at our site. The second option, is to change the DNS settings at your current domain provider. If you have access to change the names servers, simply change them to ns1.ecosee.net and ns2.ecosee.net Allow 48 hours for your changes to take place and we'll do the rest.

8. What kind of paper do you use with the 'Printing Services' addon?
Answer: Our processing center uses the most advanced digital printing technology available. Our small format glossy and matte prints are made using Fuji Crystal Archive paper. Large format prints are produced on an Oce Lightjet using Fuji Crystal professional paper and chemistry, which produces bright, crisp commercial prints with unsurpassed, world-class color image stability. This paper is ideal for meeting professional photographers' needs and delivers rich tonal gradation, vivid color reproduction, exceptional sharpness and unsurpassed color stability. We use the top technology in the industry and our prints are far superior to many of today's online processing services.

9. How do I resize my photos to display properly on my site?
Answer: There are two answers to this question. First, you can simply use the built in resizing option and set the size manually. We recommend setting the max pixels to 650 as this is the size the templates were designed to use. Larger widths are possible with some of the templates but not others. The second option is to resize the photos before you upload them to the site. We recommend this option as it saves you time during the uploading process and allows you to add watermarks to the images to protect them from illegal downloads. 'Downsize' is a great program for MAC and highly recommended. The nice thing about Downsize id that it is very easy to add watermarks to your image in a batch processing environment. For Windows users there is a great freeware product called VSO Image Resizer. It can handle batch processing and watermarking as well.

10. How do I watermark my images for protection?
Answer: There are several batch processing programs available for purchase on the net that can handle watermarking. Again, 'Downsize' for MAC users is a perfect tool for resizing your images and adding a watermark all in one process. For Windows users there is a great freeware product called VSO Image Resizer. It can handle batch processing and watermarking as well.

11. How do I make money with stock photography?
Answer: Do you have a good camera? If so, stock photography is a perfect option for selling your photos on the web. Simply signup for EcoSee's 'Stock Portfolio' plan and add your photos to your personal online portfolio. Submit your photos to one of the recommended agencies and link your portfolio directly to your agency offerings to improve your sales potential.
